Abstract

HOSTING INTERNET SERVICES
FROM A DYNAMIC I.P. ADDRESS

This project looks at IP addressing on the Internet. Current problems are reviewed and their solutions discussed. The effect that techniques being employed to reduce the demand for a finite number of IP addresses are having on those wishing to host Internet services is examined in detail. Specific problems are highlighted and their solutions reviewed. A software system is designed which unifies these solutions while overcoming their main limitation, the lack of automation. Using this system it is possible to host Internet services from an Internet address which is constantly changing.
